Do I have to wait in line if I have E-ticket?

Before waiting in a long line, please ask at the entrance desk if you are in the right place. If you have an e-ticket you are allowed to skip the line.

How does the procedure work and end?

The online procedure is completed when you receive three e-mails: the first one with your summed-up order and authorization from the bank, the second one is that your reservation has been completed and the third one within some minutes with your voucher confirmation.

What will I do if I don’t receive an e-mail confirmation?

If you don’t receive any information within 1 hour please get in contact with us.

How do e-tickets work?

When booking, enter your full name and email address. Buy as many e-tickets as you want.
Once booked, we’ll email your tickets as PDF attachments (one email per journey booked).
If you’re buying a ticket for someone else, forward the ticket to them by email.

To use:
Take a screenshot of your Eticket or scan the barcode directly from the email on your phone.
For added reassurance, you can print the PDF and use a hard copy.
Scan the ticket barcode using the ticket barriers at the ticket gates.

Do I need to pay extra money at the reservation desk?

No, you don’t. Everything is enclosed in the payment of your voucher.

Can I visit the museum twice in the same day with my E-ticket?

No, this is not possible.  The voucher can only be used once.

Does my child need a ticket?

Children under the age of 8 can enter Hagia Sophia free of charge. Children will be asked to present their passport at the entrance to confirm their age.

Is there a dress code for Hagia Sophia?

There is no special dress code for Hagia Sophia. Wear what you would wear at home to visit a museum. If you should plan to visit the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (the Blue Mosque), which is right across the street, on the same visit, so you should dress appropriately for that.

Signs around the Blue Mosque explain those rules to visitors: men should wear long trousers, but can wear short-sleeved shirts. Women should cover their hair and arms, as well as their legs from the knees up. At the entrance, visitors have three choices, depending on the modesty of their dress.

When and Where will I receive my E tickets?

When you make your reservation on the same day or the day after, we will send immediately your voucher. In all the other cases your voucher (e ticket) will be ready to print as soon as possible. We will inform you when it is ready to print via e-mail. If you don’t receive an email, please contact us, maybe there is spam problem or your email address is not correct. Remember you cannot enter in the museum without your voucher or without your reservation number (on the voucher), if you have a problem in printing it, you can show your voucher on your phone or tablet.

Can I visit the museum on a different day or time with respect to my reservation E Ticket?

Yes, you can visit the museum at any time after the purchase of your e-ticket.

If I Cannot print out the voucher how can I do otherwise?
You may also just show your reservation ticket on your phone or tablet in case you haven’t had a chance to print it. Your voucher is important to pick up the tickets to museums; without showing the voucher, the museum does not allow you to get in.
If I have lost my E-ticket, how can I rescue it??
If you have lost your e-tickets, send us a message from your email account where you bought the ticket. We will resend your tickets to you immediately.
All of my tickets have my name on them. Can my friend use the ticket with my name?

Yes, it is not a problem for a different person to use a general admission ticket with your name if you will be checking in separately.

How much time do you need for Hagia Sophia Museum?

In 3 hours you can visit both Hagia Sophia (1-2 hours) and the Blue Mosque (15-30 minutes). If you’re quick, you can get a quick glimpse of the bazaar as well, but 3 hours isn’t enough time to visit Topkapi Palace.

Payment Information

What Payment Methods Are Accepted?

We accept the following major credit and debit cards: Paypal, Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro and Solo. If you pay by credit or debit card you will be asked for the security number of the card. This is the last three digits on the signature strip on the back of your card.

Which currencies do you accept?

We currently only accept Euro, although in the future we aim to accept alternative currencies.

Is Buying On-Line Safe?

Payment security is very important at HagiaSophiaTickets.org. All credit and debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to or does not for any reason authorise payment then we will not be able to accept your order.

The HagiaSophiaTickets website has its own encryption software to ensure your information is always safe. Our website is also secured by Let’s Encrypt Authority which means your information is always secured with 256-bit encryption.

Please double check that you’ve entered your details correctly and try again.

We do apologise as this can be quite frustrating and we are not always able to provide answers, as the card payment process involves the banks clearing systems.

If your purchase still can’t be completed, please try a different payment method or contact your bank.

I want to pay on arrival. Is this possible?

It is not possible to pay on arrival. The payment process must be completed on either our website or app.

Unfortunately, e-tickets are non-refundable. However, you may want to use your e-ticket at another time. So you should keep them in your email account or on your mobile phone / tablet.
